CBI will investigate Hathras case :
Yogi Adityanath ordered that CBI will investigate Hathras case.
“Yogi Adityanath must understand that wherever there is injustice, we will go wherever we go,” Priyanka Gandhi Bohra warned shortly after meeting the victim’s family in Hathras. None of us can stop it. We will fight against injustice.
Within two minutes, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister’s office announced that Yogi had ordered a CBI probe into the Hathras incident. Politicians think that this decision has to be taken in the face of pressure at home and abroad. This includes the strategy of blunting the political weapons of the opposition. The role of the police administration in the Hathras incident was questioned. There was also a demand to remove Yogi from the post of Chief Minister. Yogi today wanted to turn his attention from his police administration to the CBI.
Rahul-Priyanka meet family of the Hathras victim :
To put pressure on Yogi, Rahul and Priyanka left the AICC headquarters for Hathras with 35 Congress MPs. The MPs were in the minibus. With hundreds of supporters. But at the entrance to Uttar Pradesh beyond Delhi, a huge police force was deployed at the mouth of the DND (Delhi-Noida-Delhi) flyover, effectively building a wall of khaki uniforms. “No power in the world can stop me,” said Rahul Hathras before leaving. Priyanka also said, “If I don’t go today, I will try again.”
Seeing that the Congress leaders were getting a chance to campaign on this issue, the Yogi government changed its strategy. At first, the police tried to stop the Congress leaders by using batons. Even a male police officer grabbed Priyanka’s clothes and stopped her. Later, however, he bowed his head and allowed Rahul, Priyanka, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Mukul Wasnik and KC Benugopal to leave. Five people arrived in Hathras in the evening by car.
